Spa Pool Enclosure & Pool Cover Opener

Paving and Frame

I would have completed the paving before continuing with building the frame. However, we had a lot of wet weather this winter and I wanted to make sure that the base coarse had dried out properly before doing the paving. The other reason was so that I could get most of the paint work done to avoid unintended splashes on the pavers.

The guy who supplied the paving materials said it was a pretty simple task. I hate paving and there is nothing simple about getting concrete pavers all level on a bed of sand. You have to have a lot of respect for the people who make this look easy.

One good piece of advise was not to follow instructions on packets about compacting pavers. Not all pavers are made the same and compacting some types of pavers will only result in a lot of broken pieces.

This is how it all came together.
